And it means a lot to our researchers to be able to get an insight from the evaluator experience of their peers. | | | Swedish funding requiring central management | Returning initiative to bolster recruitment of top international researchersA recruitment initiative tied to the Wallenberg Academy Fellows (WAF) excellence programme The first initiative resulted in the international recruitment of three associate senior lecturers, made by the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology and the Faculty of Medicine with the aim of nominating the recruits for the Knut and Alice Wallenberg (KAW) Foundation’s WAF programme. Out of Lund University’s (LU) 16 nominations for WAF 2025, four were spotted through the initiative. The new excellence initiative, which will run from 2027 to 2030, builds on previous experiences. The University has once again earmarked up to SEK 40 million to attract and nominate up-and-coming researchers embarking on their careers for the WAF programme. Faculties are asked to announce whether or not they want to participate by September 2025. The call for nominations for WAF 2027 is expected to open in January 2027, with deadline 15 February 2027. This is preceded by LU’s internal candidate selection process, to commence (at least) about a year prior to deadline. Read more | | | |
